The best way to describe the Influenster website is it's a website similar to Birchbox, but the boxes don't cost anything! The website is free to join and nothing but your address is needed! I found out about this site through my friend Taylor (AKA CollegeGlamoration) At first I thought it was too good to be true, but I was happy to be proven wrong! This site really wants the reviews of their active members on what they truly think of the products sent. You don't get paid for the review you do, the point is to do the reviews so other can know about the products. Also companies can see how to improve their products as well. I'm glad to have been told about this site.

Softsoap Bar Soap in Coconut Scrub
I did not like the performance of the Softsoap Bar Soap in the scent Coconut Scrub. The scent was nice and it did seem to remove the dry skin quite well. However, the bar soap did leave a residue on my skin. All the soaps I have used prior to the Softsoap bar soap has left my skin soft to the touch. This Softsoap bar made my skin squeak because I had the residue left on my skin, no matter on much water I used to rinse. I have used Dove bar soap and never experienced the residue feeling. I have used Softsoap liquid soap and was quite happy with it. If I purchase from Softsoap again, I will be only buying the liquid soap form.
X Out Wash-In Acne Treatment
I have dry combination skin, so this product did remove a lot of my needed oils from my skin. I feel this product is best used on those with much more oiler skin than mine. I have used proactive (the makers of X Out) and loved it. X Out seems to be more intense. There is even peroxide in it...which scared my a bit. When you use it you can tell it's intense. My skin seems to have a natural glow, and I do feel too much of the product can remove that if you don't have oily skin. However it does leave my skin VERY smooth and is helpful when I'm stressed out and when I am breaking out more than usual.
Impress Nails in Love Bites
I didn't really enjoy using the imPress Press-on Manicure in Love bites. I'm sure many people will like this brand, but I never liked trying fake nails. When I got these nails in the Voxbox I was opened minded about the idea, especially because of the range in sizes in one container. However, I was disappointed because my hands and fingers are quite small and my nail-beds are rounded and not square. It was very hard to find my size and the shape that fit all my fingers. Once I did get a nail on each finger, they didn't look natural and uniform like I expected. I kept them on but it hurt my real nails when I would work and do normal things, like getting dressed. The nails would get pulled, and even though they wouldn't come off, they still hurt as they pulling my natural nail. Sadly, I'm not interested in trying more from this brand.
NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine In Nude NewYork
In my Holiday Voxbox I got the NC New York Color Liquid Lipshine in Nude NewYork. I have heard of how great this lipgloss was, but the price always made me feel like it was a cheap product. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried my lipgloss. It went on smoothly and didn't leave my lips sticky. The color and shine lasted about the same as my other glosses, which is impressive because I do use the higher end brand of Clinique lipgloss as well as Revlon glosses. The scent was a little sweet but on the lips it wasn't too over-powering. Usually I don't like my products to have a scent, but this was tolerable and somewhat pleasant at times. The Nude Newyork color made my lipsticks look more natural. I could now wear a bright pink lipstick and make it look like my natural lip color if I just put on a bit of the Nude NewYork gloss. Very excited to try other glosses from the brand along with some other colors as well.
Montagne Jeunesse Mud Pac Dead Sea Masque
I have used Montagne Jeunesse's face masks before and have always been impressed. My skin is very dry and can be sensitive. Thankfully this mask does NOT irritate skin and removes all the dry skin off my face, leaving it super smooth with no leftover residue. I will be buying more from this brand and will continue to use the variety of face masks they have to offer.
Larabar in Coconut Cream Pie
I didn't really like the Larabar in the flavor Coconut Cream Pie. The taste made me feel like I was eating something that wasn't appealing, especially in texture. This may be because of the flavor I got, but I'm unsure. I really like Nutrigrain bars and Nature Valley bar, but this is just gross! If the bar had more of a crunchy texture, I could see myself liking this bar more.
Mentos Pure Chewing Gum in Winter Fresh
I have always heard of Mentos gum and have tried it from a friend a long time ago. I really forgot how good it was. Even with the gum I was using (Orbit Gum and 5 Gum) I was a bit annoyed when the gum would lose flavor in less then 30 minutes and would have the awful after-taste. When I first tried my Mentos gum from my Voxbox, I noticed the great flavor and how fresh it left my mouth. After an hour I noticed the taste was still lingering and I was NOT having that disgusting after-taste! It was very impressive and changed my opinion completely on what kind of gum I will be buying from now on!
